How to transform completely missed madeleines into a beautiful dessert raspberry tiramisù

Yesterday, I had a huge desire of cooking madeleines. You know, those little French butter cakes with such a lovely shape that every kid loves. The only thing that I hadn’t thought of is that I have an oven that sucks! First mistake : compared to the one we had in Belgium, this one is really really small. And my madeleine pan for normal size madeleines doesn’t fit…good thing i have another one for tiny madeleines. Baking madeleines can be tricky and without the right oven is sooooo difficult! My tiny madeleines look completely flat…not so lovely. With the remaining dough, i decide to use a muffin pan. why not? it is just not the shape of a madeleine but the same taste. The results : a strange looking cake with a hole in the middle…it tastes good (although a little bit too sugary with the recipe i used) but look at them…not very appealing!

My idea, as i have a big bag of frozen raspberries in the freezer, is to make a nice desssert tiramisù style with a raspberry mousse. A layer of madeleines, a layer of raspberry mousse (with mascarpone) and a touch of raspberry sauce. Et voilà : my freaking looking madeleines are transformed into a yummy dessert!
